Born in St Andrews, Scotland and currently based near the town, Marion Smith RSA studied sculpture at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen. Her practice centres on creating site-specific commissions for the public realm. She has large scale sculptures permanently sited in the United Kingdom from Shetland in the far north to Southampton in the south and has exhibited internationally. She was elected to the Royal Scottish Academy in 2005.
In this exhibition, Marion Smith’s virtuosity and versatility in scale is demonstrated in a selection of her small works. It is the gallery’s great pleasure to present this renowned sculptor’s work.
Marion Smith’s work is shown alongside small works by Andrew Wenrick, Belinda Bullen, Dan Drage, Alistair MacNaughton and Bertie Lumsden.
