In the Long Evenings . . . Colour and Light

In the long evenings . . . colour and light  presented the work of four sought-after contemporary Scottish and European artists, offering mid-winter experiences of light and colour

Belinda Bullen studied as a post-graduate student at the Royal Academy Schools.  From her Fife studio, the artist studies the ever-changing light and coastal landscape, which she captures in series of images in oil, print and mixed media. She has been invited to return as Artist in Residence at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews. She has exhibited extensively in Europe and Australia. Her work is held in private and corporate collections throughout the world.

Daniele Sambo is a Glasgow based artist from Venice. With a background in urban and landscape planning and design, he went on to study photography at the University of Venice, Italy. He completed his MA in Photography at Glasgow School of Art in 2011. He has exhibited internationally at Triennale Bovisa, Milan, Biblioteca Nacional de España, Madrid, and at the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale. He is the recipient of numerous awards.  The gallery is excited to present for collectors two of his works from his series of photographs that are the result of his community involvement in the housing estates of Glasgow and several European cities.

Jonathan Dredge is a photographer and print maker who was born and brought up in St Andrews. With a professional background in design and broadcasting, he now also works with textile artist Ross Belton as Modern Eccentrics, a creative partnership and online art and crafts magazine.

Richard Wotherspoon graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 1984. He’s been loyal to his art practice and talent all this time, yet his work rarely becomes available to collectors. He has a powerful style, building up layer upon layer of pen & ink, oil pastel and shellac in rich colours and strong outlines. His work is held in private collections in the UK and America.
