Daniele Sambo is a Glasgow based artist from Venice. With a background in urban and landscape planning and design, he went on to study photography at the University of Venice, Italy. He completed his MA in Photography at Glasgow School of Art in 2011.
He has exhibited internationally at Triennale Bovisa, Milan, Biblioteca Nacional de España, Madrid, and at the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale. He is the recipient of numerous awards.
In recent years he has developed an interest in public art and photography’s role as a vehicle for change through documentation. His works in this exhibition are the result of his community involvement in the housing estates of Glasgow. As with each work in the series ‘Sown’, they are a testament to a community’s efforts to create a better living environment. City nightscapes “transmogrified by light” (Muriel Spark).
