About the Artist
Andrew Wenrick is an artist and architect based in London. He regularly spends time in Europe, particularly in Switzerland, which inspired three of his works in the gallery’s inaugural exhibition, ‘Maps of the Imagination.’
The Gallery is pleased to present four of Andrew Wenrick’s ‘SPHERICAL SERIES 22’. These are box framed rectangular extracts of vintage maps of France. Into each one, a flower head shape has been cut. The resulting pieces of cut-out petals are individually secured within the frame, as if where they fell. The flower head’s petals shine, as the artist has placed a mirror behind. It was somehow unsurprising to learn the artist travelled to Paris especially to collect the twigs that form the flower stems in these works – another mark of his exceptional, professionally trained dedication to detail.
Andrew Wenrick is currently embarked on a series of large-scale works.
