2014          Edition of 7, of which 6 are available.

POLLEN  is part of a series of small-scale works in cast bronze, commissioned by  TRACKS, The Rural Access Committee of Kinross-shire in Scotland. They are embedded in seats along walking trails by Loch Leven.  Beautiful Loch Leven lies between Edinburgh (31 miles away) and Perth (20 miles), in the east of Scotland’s Central Lowlands. The nearest town is Kinross.

These artworks are integrated into oak seating on the final section of a new network of pathways around the Loch.  They were created as site-specific artworks, relating directly to commissioned poetry couplets that reflect the landscape and heritage of the loch.  It is especially pleasing for collectors to envisage the beautiful, natural setting of the originating, first medal of this small edition.  There are 6 of each medal available for buyers.

The sculptor has created a book of drawings of all 22 medals in the series, ‘Loch Leven Lexicon.’   Simply contact the gallery to purchase your copy (£55.).

The designs were realised by carving them into plaster, taking rubber moulds from the carvings then pouring wax into the moulds.  These wax versions were then used in the process of lost wax bronze casting.
